chaotic rotation

The rotation of a planetary body without a fixed period. The possibility that rotation of this character could exist arose in the case of one of the small satellites of Saturn, Hyperion. Because of its eccentric orbit and the many gravitational forces acting on it, there is a constant exchange of energy between Hyperion's orbital motion and its rotation.
